Lincoln Navigator: Intake Air Distribution and Filtering - 3.5L EcoBoost (272kW/370PS) / Charge Air Cooler (CAC) Intake Pipe. Removal and Installation
Removal
NOTICE:
The turbocharger compressor vanes can be damaged by even the
smallest particles. When removing any turbocharger or engine air intake
system component, ensure that no debris enters the system. Failure to
do so may result in damage to the turbocharger.
NOTE:
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
Charge air cooler (CAC) intake pipe - Left side

Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe LH .
Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe LH (303-12 Intake Air Distribution
and Filtering - 3.5L EcoBoost (272kW/370PS), Removal and Installation).

Disconnect the quick release coupling.
Refer to: Quick Release Coupling (310-00 Fuel System - General Information)

Detach the retainer and position the brake vacuum reservoir assembly aside.

Remove the air cleaner.
Refer to: Air Cleaner (303-12 Intake Air Distribution and Filtering)
.

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
Refer to: Jacking and Lifting (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).

Loosen the clamps and remove the bellows connector.
Torque:
44 lb.in (5 Nm)

NOTE:
The clamp can be accessed through the fender splash shield.
Loosen the clamp and remove the CAC intake pipe LH .
Torque:
44 lb.in (5 Nm)
Charge air cooler (CAC) intake pipe - Right side

Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe RH .
Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe RH (303-12 Intake Air Distribution
and Filtering - 3.5L EcoBoost (272kW/370PS), Removal and Installation).

NOTE:
The clamp can be accessed through the fender splash shield.
Loosen the clamps and remove the CAC intake pipe RH .
Torque:
44 lb.in (5 Nm)
Installation

Inspect the turbocharger or engine air intake system components and clean, if necessary.
-
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
