Removal
NOTICE:
Under no circumstances should the A/C
compressor belt, accessory drive belt, tensioner or pulleys be
lubricated as potential damage to the belt material and tensioner
damping mechanism will occur. Do not apply any fluids or belt dressing
to the A/C compressor belt, accessory drive belt or pulleys.
NOTE:
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

If equipped
Remove the bolts and the underbody skid plate.

If equipped.
Remove the bolts and the underbody skid plate.

Cut the A/C compressor belt.
Use the General Equipment: Knife
Installation

Using the special tool, install the replacement belt.
Use Special Service Tool: 303-1252
Stretchy Belt Remover/ Installer Tool.

Make sure the accessory drive belt is correctly seated on all the pulleys.

If equipped.
Install the underbody shield and the bolts.
Torque:
Upper Bolts:
30 lb.ft (40 Nm)
Lower Bolts:
71 lb.in (8 Nm)

If equipped.
Install the underbody shield and the bolts.
Torque:
30 lb.ft (40 Nm)
Removal
With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.

Leak detection
Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Air Conditioning (A/C)
System Recovery, Evacuation and Charging procedure in Group 412.
Disconnect the refrigerant lines from the A/C compressor. Refer to the appropriate section in Group 412 for the procedure.
