Lincoln Navigator: Exhaust System - 3.5L EcoBoost (272kW/370PS) / Muffler. Removal and Installation
Removal

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
Refer to: Jacking and Lifting (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).

Remove the muffler and tailpipe.
Refer to: Muffler and Tailpipe (309-00 Exhaust System - 3.5L EcoBoost (272kW/370PS), Removal and Installation).

Loosen the clamps, and slide the clamps back on the muffler.

Detach the isolators, remove the bolts and the muffler.
Installation
-
Clean all exhaust connections before reassembly.

Install the muffler, the bolts and attach the isolators.
Torque:
18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

Tighten the clamps in the sequence shown.
Torque:
35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

Install the muffler and tailpipe.

Check the exhaust system for leaks.
Removal
NOTICE:
Do not use oil or grease-based lubricants on the isolators.
These lubricants may cause deterioration of the isolator. This can lead
to separation of the isolator from the exhaust hanger bracket during
vehicle operation...
