Lincoln Navigator: Rear Suspension / Shock Absorber and Spring Assembly. Removal and Installation
Removal
NOTICE:
Suspension fasteners are critical parts that affect the
performance of vital components and systems. Failure of these fasteners
may result in major service expense. Use the same or equivalent parts if
replacement is necessary. Do not use a replacement part of lesser
quality or substitute design. Tighten fasteners as specified.

Remove the lower arm.
Refer to: Lower Arm (204-02 Rear Suspension, Removal and Installation).

If equipped.
Disconnect the electrical connector and detach the
retainers of the Continuous Controlled Damping (CCD) shock absorber wire
harness.

Remove and discard the 3 shock absorber and spring
assembly upper nuts. Remove the shock absorber and spring assembly.
Installation
-
Install the shock absorber and spring assembly, tighten the new shock absorber and spring assembly upper nuts.
Torque:
30 lb.ft (40 Nm)

If equipped.
Install the Continuous Controlled Damping (CCD) shock
absorber wire retainers and connect the Continuous Controlled Damping
(CCD) shock absorber wire electrical connector.

Install the lower arm.
