Removal
NOTE:
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

NOTE:
RH side shown, LH side similar.
On both sides.
Index-mark the hood hinge location to aid in hood installation.

NOTICE:
Support the hood before removing the strut. Failure
to follow this direction may result in damage to the components.
NOTICE:
Use the correct service parts when replacing the
hood struts. The hood struts are not interchangeable and using the
incorrect service part will result in damage to components.
Release the clips and remove the struts.

NOTE:
An assistant is necessary for the removal of the hood.
Remove the nuts and the hood.
Torque:
17 lb.ft (23 Nm)

NOTE:
This step is only necessary when installing a new component.
Remove the retainers and hood insulation.

NOTE:
This step is only necessary when installing a new component.
Remove the retainers and the hood pad assembly.

NOTE:
This step is only necessary when installing a new component.
Remove the striker latch to hood bolts and the striker latch.
Torque:
106 lb.in (12 Nm)
Installation

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Check the hood alignment. Align the hood as necessary.
